Successful Implementation of E-Balloting in Trade Unions

E-balloting becomes a legal option for UK trade unions from August 2026. Is your union ready?

E-balloting is coming into effect for UK trade unions from August 2026. This invitation-only in-person seminar gives 50 C-suite trade union leaders a practical grounding in what it actually takes to implement it well.

Two Danish trade unions, the Metal Workers Union (105,000 members) and HK (157,000 members) will share how they drove voter turnout from 22% to 58%.

The agenda covers election integrity, voter mobilisation, and a practical framework for introducing e-balloting in your own organisation.

Date: Wednesday 9th September
Time: 13:00 - 16:30
Location: TBC

How Danish trade unions transformed voter turnout

Fifteen years ago, Danish trade unions faced an alarming decline in voter turnout. It threatened the democratic mandate behind collective agreement elections and the credibility of the Danish model itself.

In partnership with Lumi Global, Danish trade unions reversed that decline entirely.

By 2025, the average turnout in collective agreement elections in Denmark had reached 59%. Dansk Metal, one of the speakers at this seminar, achieved 70% turnout in 2025.

This did not happen by accident. It required the right platform, the right member communication strategy, and a long-term commitment to making digital voting work for members, not just administrators.
