Lumi Global: powering the AGMs, elections, and investor meetings that matter

One platform for secure voting, transparent engagement, and audit-ready compliance, wherever your stakeholders are and however your meeting is run.

Trusted by the world’s most respected organizations

Who is Lumi Global?

Lumi Global is a meeting governance technology company built to run the meetings that matter.

  • Three decades of experience, since building the first digital voting keypad in 1990
  • Roughly 15 offices worldwide, powering in-room, virtual, and hybrid meetings
  • Trusted by Shell, HSBC, Barclays, Tesco, BP, M&S, National Grid, and Rolls-Royce

What services does Lumi Global offer?

  • Lumi Platform, for AGMs, investor relations, and shareholder meetings across virtual, in-room, and hybrid formats.
  • Lumi Elections (Electa and Eligo), secure and verifiable election software for unions, associations, and government bodies.
  • Lumi Experience Venues, purpose-built event spaces across Canada.

What problems does Lumi Global solve?

Running formal meetings and votes usually means:

  • Juggling fragmented tools across every meeting format
  • Facing compliance rules that shift by jurisdiction
  • Risking disenfranchised remote attendees

Lumi Global brings broadcast, voting, Q&A, and reporting into one environment, so every stakeholder gets an equal, verifiable voice.

The Lumi Global story, from 1990 to today

Discover our history and see how Lumi Global has evolved over the years to become the industry’s leading platform to transform the meetings that matter.

1990

Michael Knowles invents “The Intergraph,” a digital keypad powered by the BBC microcomputer. Designed to handle electronic voting, it could serve a maximum of 12 people using a series of colored LEDs.

1991

IML (interactive Meetings Limited) is founded on 15 March 1991 in Haslemere, Surrey. The first cabled keypad is produced and IML begins running events supporting up to 200 participants. IML is an early pioneer in the development of interactive group responses, which allowed audiences to participate within meetings and events.

1993

With the launch of Windows 3.1, IML releases a new voting keypad to support increasing feature requirements, and the number of annual events grows quickly to over 2,000.

1995

The expanding business of IML enables a growth into new industries, supporting voting across meetings for government, tech industry giants and TV shows such as Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

1997

IML expands internationally as Four Points in Belgium becomes the first reseller of IML products abroad.

1998

IML delivers the first AGM for long-term client Shell using Meeting Express in-room meeting solution.

2005

Due to successful growth, IML is acquired by Australian brand Computershare who want in-house AGM technology.

2007

2008

Computershare continues expanding with an acquisition of Machine Dreams Inc to support the IML meeting and event business.

2010

The IML Connector is launched to a great reception. A variety of features are offered that go beyond traditional voting to provide a new level of interactive engagement for delegates at all event types. IML partners with Satellite Visual Communications in the UAE, becoming the sole Middle East commercial partner for IML.

2012

Latin America becomes the latest region to get an IML distribution partner with Peru-based Stringnet Multimedia Systems S.A.C.

IML also launches the first tablet-based solution for increased engagement during meeting events.
